Siméon H. LeBlanc, 70, of Pré-d'en-Haut, died Friday afternoon on arrival at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton.
Born in Pré-d’en-Haut, he was a son of the late Henri P. and Patience (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. He had been employed at the Stores Department, Canadian National Railway in Moncton prior to his retirement and attended the Notre-Dame-de-l'Annoncialton Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut. He was president of the Pré-d'en-Haut Golden Age Club, a member of the board of directors of Foyer St. Thomas in St. Joseph, was a veteran of the Second World War, and a member of Memramcook Branch 89, Royal Canadian Legion, and first branch manager of the Pré-d'en-Haut Caisse Populaire.
A brother, René, also died Friday at the Dr. Dumont hospital following a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife, the former Prima Gautreau; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Belliveau (Anne Louise) of Memramcook West, Mrs. Léo LeBlanc (Pauline) and Mrs. Maurice Léger (Paulette), both of Dieppe; three sons, Charles of Halifax, Danny of Shediac ant Rodrigue of Belliveau Village; three sisters, Mrs. Ferdinand Belliveau (Irène) and Nellie LeBlanc, both of Pré-d'en-Haut, and Mrs. Fred A. LeBlanc (Lorraine) of Belliveau Village; a brother, Freddie, of Pré-d'en-Haut; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Anita and Bertha, besides his brother, Rene.
The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday al 7 p.m. at Notre-Dame-de-l’Annonciation Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
